A statement from Action Together New Jersey Civil Rights Director, Rachel Green.
When will enough be enough? The racist comments made by President Trump while facilitating a bipartisan meeting about immigration yesterday and other cumulative acts is heinous and, against the very core of who we are as Americans and Action Together New Jersey.
We have watched while leaders are grossly irresponsible in their silence and actions. While the White House continues to do little to improve and bring our country together. Our strength as a nation comes from our diversity. Action Together New Jersey ask that you denounce and stay the course to protect and advocate for civil liberties, social justice, equality, and human rights for all people.
Speak Up and Stand Up against bigotry and prejudice with Action Together New Jersey and contact your Senators and Representatives. Tell them to extend protections on the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) and to pass a clean DREAM Act to protect, not turn away, the 800,000 young people who were brought to the United States as children.
“Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly.”
