Ballot Roles in Government
Governor: This is the Executive Branch of government.

State Senate, General Assembly:
Each person is represented by 1 State Senator
and 2 Members of the Assembly. These elected officials make up the NJ Legislative branch of government, and they make the laws that affect New Jerseyans.

Board of Chosen Freeholders:
A Freeholder:
*Prepares and adopts the county budget.
*Appoints county officials and members to boards, commissions, and authorities.
*Supervises the administration of county government

State Committee (Male and Female):
NOT Governmental positions.

Borough Council:
Borough/Town Council members make the decisions in your town. Depending on the form of municipal government (Borough, Town, Township, City, or Village), the elected officials have mostly legislative duties, but may have some executive duties as well.
