ACTION TOGETHER NEW JERSEY CONGRATULATES PHIL MURPHY AND ALL ATNJ MEMBERS WHO RAN FOR OFFICE

Last night, after a six-month-long and hard-fought campaign that stretched across every corner of the state, Phil Murphy was elected the next Governor of New Jersey. We look forward to the new administration and the economic and social improvement that lies ahead for this great state.

In light of these results, Action Together New Jersey (ATNJ) would like to thank its growing base of members, policy advocates, tireless volunteers, and those running in this year’s state and local elections, for their efforts in implementing progressive policies throughout New Jersey and reversing the last 8 years of failed leadership under Chris Christie and Kim Guadagno. Our voices matter now more than ever. With each passing day, the Trump Administration and Republican lawmakers at the local, state, and federal level try to infringe upon the rights of Americans. Over the last year, ATNJ’s members made countless phone calls, wrote thousands of letters, protested injustices, and advocated for the implementation of progressive policies that aim to serve the entirety of New Jersey’s diverse population.

We want to specifically thank those members that made the sacrifice to run for office. The decision to serve the public is not an easy one and requires a daily and ongoing commitment. We are eternally grateful to you and look forward to supporting those that uphold our democratic and progressive ideals.
The 2017 election is over; however, now is the time to step up, support, and push our newly elected and re-elected leaders to adhere to the tenets of a truly progressive platform. Action Together New Jersey asks its members, advocates, volunteers, and the elected officials representing us to continue the hard work and fight for the economic and social rights of the people of the great state of New Jersey.

Please join us in congratulating the following individuals who chose to serve their communities.

ABOUT ACTION TOGETHER NEW JERSEY:

Who We Are
We are the largest grassroots group in NJ and we are growing every day as NJ citizens join to fight for our values. We share a passion for equal rights, for progressive ideals, and for building a brighter future for all Americans. We are your neighbors, your friends, and your coworkers. And while we don’t always see eye to eye on every issue (just look at the pork roll/Taylor ham divide), we are residents banded together to help secure a more inclusive and progressive future for our state and our country. We invite you to join us and to be at the forefront of that change. ATNJ is part of the grassroots national network, Action Together Network (ATN), which numbers around 750,000 grassroots members nationwide.

A few of the causes we value and fight for include:
Racial Justice, Reproductive Rights, Environmental Concerns, Women’s Rights, LGBTQ+ Rights, Common Sense Gun Laws, Immigration, Education, Healthcare, Social Services, Criminal Justice Reform, Electoral Reform, Finance and Economic Reform, Smart Foreign Policy, Workers’ Rights, Civil Rights Protection and Expansion, and Military and Veterans Issues.
